Robin's F-Body Page

Hello!  If many of you know me you know that I am all about Trans Am's.   So I've created the little page to display some of the vehicles my husband and I have owned and some my father has sold.  I hope you enjoy it.

This is our newest addition April '05. 1986 Buick Grand National.  V6 Turbocharged.  0-60 in 4.9 seconds.  We are the 3rd owners w/ 43k original miles.  T-tops.  We can't find an 89 Turbo Trans Am so this was our 2nd choice. 1 of 5512 made.

Our '79 Trans Am WS6 400/4speed.  It has 70K original miles.  T-tops.  Power windows, rear defrost, and A/C.  Absolutely rust free and solid!  Tons of documentation came with the car!  A few imperfections here and there but a great investment we'll have for years! 1 of 2917 made.

We currently own this 89 GTA.  It has a 350tpi/Auto with T-tops.  Finding one with a 350tpi and T-tops is a rare find.  It currently has 120K (112k when we purchased her in '03) .  We use this one as a driver car.  1 of 1475 GTA's made in Bright Red. At one time the original leather interior was torn up so someone removed them and inserted regular Trans Am seats.  Besides the paint and seats it is all original.  (July 05) Well we were going to sell her since we bought the Buick but it gets the best gas mileage out of all our cars so we put insurance back on her and my husband is driving her to work again.  The fuel injector just went bad so luckily we had one left after replacing them on the 5spd.  (Aug. 05) Well, sometime in July Drive and Overdrive went out while we were having the 5spd rebuilt.  She's back together with the addition of finding out the cap and rotor button were bad the whole time.  When we had the tranny rebuilt we had a shift kit added and a corvette servo and boy! did this make a difference.  It's like driving  a totally different car.  If your not careful it will kick into 2nd and almost do a 360!  Next is to change the rear shocks and replace the front strut mounts.  Paint is still a ways away.

We also currently own this 89 GTA.  This is my baby and I will never sell it.  It currently has 78K (76K when purchased in '01) and is driven very little.  It is a very RARE 305tpi/5spd.  Only 366 of these were made in 89 and thus they are even rarer than the 89 20th Anniversary Turbo (which will be the next to add to my collection).  It is flame red metallic with Beechwood cloth interior and T-tops.  The interior on this one is near mint condition.  There are a few door dings and the paint is a shade off in spots due to repaints from the clear coming off.  My hope was to have it repainted last winter.  I absolutely love this car!  We acquired the Red GTA after this one and did so because I so badly wanted another 350tpi/Auto.  (Oct. 04) Waiting on fuel injectors doesn't seem to be running correctly.  Hope it gets fixed soon.  (July 04) Forgot to update...injectors fixed the problem.  Runs great again.  Installed a new console this past weekend b/c our old one had velcro stuck to it.  Looks a lot nicer.  Well, since I'm driving it more it now has 80K.  (April 05) Well, my poor baby had to get left outside to make room in the garage last year for the '79 so now the clear is peeling badly off the back spoiler.  Thank goodness I haven't had her repainted yet. (July 05) Well, my baby is down again.  Getting the transmission rebuilt.  She wouldn't downshift from 4th to 3rd and the front bearing was getting noisy.  Turns out the mainshaft was bad along with the synchro.  $600 for the rebuild so hopefully she'll be on the road within a week.  The spoiler did finally get repainted but has a lot of dirt in it but it's good enough for now until I have the whole car painted. (Aug. 05) Well, back on the road about 3wks ago along with the Red one.  Much nicer to drive now that I can downshift and she takes right off now.  I sure did miss her.  I'm up to 82K on her now.

This is a rare 93 Firebird Formula we sold at the lot April '05.  What makes it rare is that it's a 350 6spd and in 93 they only made 756 Formulas that were 6spds.  Total firebirds made the whole year was only 20 some thousand. It didn't have T-tops.  Someone installed an aftermarket body kit around the sides and a ram air hood.

This is a 95 Camaro Z28 my dad currently has for sale.  It is also rare in that it is a 350/6spd.  It has T-tops. 114k miles (which is low mileage for the year and even an addition to the value in nada).  Fully loaded including power seats.  Ice cold Air.  We just drove it (April 05) to a car swap meet 200miles there and 200 miles back and I even drove it for the whole week before.  It's a nice one. SOLD 5-14-05

Well, we just sold this one again (July 04).  We originally sold it in April with the original 305 carb/5spd.  They installed a new 350V8 and traded it back in.  We had so much response from this one.  I guess just b/c it had a 350 installed.  But it didn't interest me b/c it wasn't original.  Oh, it was an 86 Z28.

1998 Formula currently for sale.  350V8 Auto T-tops.  Fully loaded! (SOLD 8-05!)

My dad currently had this one for sale.  It's an 85 305tpi/Auto with T-tops.  Two-tone interior that needs some work.  Body is solid put needs some paint work around the bottom.  Runs well.  This was the first year for the tuned-port engine in the Trans Am.  Sold 6-04

Look at this basket case!  1987 Iroc-Z Very hard to find 350tpi/Auto with T-tops.  The body was rust free but the paint was bad.  The interior was trashed.  We purchased this on Tues. 9-30-03 and took it to Carlisle and sold it 10-4-03!  Great project car!  It ran awesome!

This is a 91 Firebird my dad currently has for sale.  It's fully loaded and equipped with a 305tbi, Auto and T-tops.  Great body.  Interior could use some work but overall a solid bird. (SOLD 4-05)

This was a 79 Firebird my dad had.  It was a one owner with only 24k original miles.  Drivetrain was a 301V8/Auto. It was all original and the interior was like new.  It didn't take long to sell this one in 2001.

This was a 91 Formula my mom had for sale.  It had T-tops and was a rare 5spd but had the 305tbi engine.  Interior was clean and nice but it did need some work around the rear quarters.  Sold 2004.

This is an 1989 Firebird 2.8 V6 Auto with T-tops my dad acquired for resale.  It had 90K miles and the exterior is near flawless.  It was fully loaded and is quite a nice car.  It also had the Trans Am ground effects that was an added option you could get on the Base Firebird. Sold! 10-03

This is an 84 Trans Am my dad sold.  It had the optional High Output 305 Vin code G.  Upgraded interior and fully loaded with T-tops.  It needed a paint job but overall was a pretty solid car.

This is a 90 Trans Am.  It was equipped with a 305tpi/Auto, T-tops and Fully loaded.  The interior is in great condition and is clean.  The driver's side door is a shade off but it is also a very solid T/A.  90 was a very limited production year for the Trans Am thus only 1054 of them were made. Sold!  Good luck David!  Hope you find your seats.  (Oct. 04) Just saw it the other day with the Tops out still looks sharp!

This is one of those ones that after you sell it you kick yourself for it.  We for some strange reason sold this car in June 2003.  It is a 1977 all original 400/4spd.  We purchased it needed painted.  So we painted it, installed the bird and then sold it?  I think it was because it was a plain Jane.  It had no options whatsoever not even A/C.  We really wanted a Black one with T-tops like we used to have.  It was fun to drive while we had it and it rode really nice!  It had deluxe black vinyl seats which were so comfy!  I could even reach the clutch unlike many older ones.  One day I'm sure we'll have another although the 400/4spds are very, very hard to find. (FOUND ONE 5-04) Purchased the Red 89 with some of the funds from this one.

1984 Trans Am my dad had and sold in 2001.  305 4bbl/Auto.

This was my dad's 80 Turbo Indy 500 Pace Car.  We sold it in 2001. It was a very solid car in restorable condition.  The interior was not the greatest.  This was the 3rd one overall we've had between all of us.

1991 Camaro Z28 made sold in 2000.  No t-tops but had a 350 tuned port/Auto.

This was an old 89 ( I think) 6cyl Camaro my mom had for sale.  We sold it for $1200 to a kid who wanted to put a 350 in it and make a sleeper car out of it.  Sold in 2001.

This was a 91 Camaro my mom had for sale.  It was a 6cyl 5spd.  The good thing was it only had 80K miles but the bad thing was the transmission mount was shot.  It's a round mount that's hard to find and cost $350 new.  It ended up going to the auction in 2003.

An el cheapo 88 Camaro RS my dad had for sale.  At least it wasn't a 6cyl and had a 305tbi engine and was Auto.  It needed some work but ran ok.  Sold 6-04.

An old 84 Camaro my dad had for sale.  Someone had stuck a 350V8 in it.  I was just another unmemorable el cheapo. Sold in 2002.

This is a 92 Camaro RS my dad had.   It was equipped with a 305Tbi/5spd.  Fully loaded with T-tops.  It was originally a Florida car thus no rust.  The interior is near perfect.  This baby runs and drives 100%.  It feels like you are driving a brand new car.  It's not junk!  Maybe it's the color because I myself would've taken it had it been black.  Any V8 5-speed in a T/A or Camaro regardless if it's Throttle-Body or Tuned Port is rare in itself.   Sold! 8-5-03 Good choice! (Oct. 04) Just saw this one to the other day at Walmart, glad to see it still looks so good!

This was an 87 Z28 my dad had and sold.  It was also a rare 305tpi/5spd with T-tops.  So, So paint and so, so interior.  I wish it would've been an Iroc but he sold it very quickly just he same.  We recently acquired this one back on trade.  (Oct. 04)  Rebuilding the Transmission and sold!

Here again we have a rare find.  This was our 87 Iroc-Z all original 305tpi/5spd.  Fully loaded and had 99K when we sold it.  The was one of the most solid F-body we have owned to date.  The body had absolutely no rust and no dings/dents (it was straight!).  The paint was still in great shape except for some clear coming off in spots.  It also had T-tops.  We sold this one in 2002.  We just aren't all that into Camaro's but it was another rare 5-speed.

This fine 88 GTA was also a 305tpi/5-speed with T-tops.  Fully loaded with optional digital dash.  It had 98K miles.  My husband and dad were partners in this car.  I thought we should keep it but they needed the money so they sold it Nov. 2002 to a guy in Indiana.  Here it is pictured at the Fall Carlisle meet were we also took my mom's 91 GTA and my dad's other 88 GTA.  It was Flame Red with Black interior.  It was 1 of 809 made

This I would have to say was one of our favorites.  This was our 1991 Formula Firebird 305tpi/5speed.  Fully loaded with T-tops and WS6 suspension.  It had 92K miles.  This Formula was absolutely like brand new!  The interior was immaculate, paint glossy, and ran perfect.  We were never able to find out how many Formula's were made with this combo but I'm sure it wasn't very many since most came with Throttle Body injection.  This was such a beautiful car!  We sold it to a lovely gentleman in May 2002 who came from Virginia to pick it up.  I sure hope he's taking car of it! (whoops, lost this pic to will have up soon)

This is my mom's 1991 GTA 305pti/Auto with T-tops.  In 91 & 92 you could only get T-tops with a 305 and not a 350.  Some 91 GTA's did get out with that combo but not many.  Hers is Dark Green Metallic with Black Leather Interior.  She had the motor rebuilt at a cost of $1000 b/c it started to smoke but still ran fine.  She currently has it put away in storage.  This GTA is very sharp looking but I don't prefer the 305/Auto combo.

This was my dad's 88 GTA Artic white.  305tpi/Auto T-tops and Digital Dash.  It was a sharp looking overall solid car.  The interior was Beechwood and needed some work.  He sold it March 2003 to a guy in North Carolina.

This was my mom's 92 firebird with the special appearance pkg.  T-tops. 305tbi/Auto.  This bird ran great I believe it must have had some upgrades at one time b/c it ran better than most 305tpi cars.  She sold it for only $2000.  Purple was not the original color.  It was originally a rare Jamaica Yellow bird.  That color was only available in 92 and not many where made.  Only 14 GTA's and 41 Formula's.  I never did find out how many regular firebirds were that color but only about 2000 total firebirds were made in 92 total.

This was our 87 Formula 350tpi/Auto.  Came from Florida with a great body but the interior was shot due to the FL sun.  No t-tops b/c in 87 you could not get a 350tpi and T-tops.  The was the 1st yr. the 350 was offered in a firebird.  It is somewhere.  The guy who bought it wrecked it pretty good.

  95 Formula my dad sold.  350/Auto T-tops.

The 91 Formula 5spd, 92 Camaro RS 5spd, and the 95 Formula.  Which one sold 1st?  The 91 Formula 5spd!  Then the 95 Formula and then the 92 Camaro.

This was our 1978 W72 400/Auto Solar Gold Trans Am.  We sold it in August 2001 thus giving us the funds for our 89 GTA 5spd we purchased.  The Black vinyl interior was near mint.  It incorrectly had the special edition gold steering wheel.  Quick paint job that was on it when we got it but it looked great from 10ft. away.  It was missing the front spoilers which we later put on. Just wish it would have been a 4spd w/ T-tops but that's still to come (found May 04).

Here we have the ultimate F-body!  The one above all others I'm really mad about selling.  This was our 1970 Formula 400. Original numbers matching drive train.  400/330hp/Auto.  We purchased it Nov. 97 (I think?) and sold it Feb. 2000.  When we 1st purchased it the motor had blow by and needed rebuilt but still ran OK.  It was painted a light yellow.  So we rebuilt the engine at a cost well over $1000, repainted it 76 Cadillac Green, and purchased original Rally wheels and caps.  This car ran!  I've never since ever owned another that ran like this car did.  My husband said we had to sell it b/c we purchased a 96 6spd.  Why did I ever allow him to talk me into it?  From what I know it was wrecked (hit a deer) and they blew the motor up and now it's just sitting in a field to die.  I'd buy it back in a heartbeat if it could be fixed again.  If you know this car and it's for sale contact me!

Here was our 96 Trans Am.  The whole reason we had to sell the '70.  It was a 350/6spd.  Black on black with T-tops.  It has 80K when we bought it and 90k when we sold it in 2000.

Sorry the only pic I have of this car.  This was our 88 Trans Am T-tops.  It was a 305tpi/Auto and had only 60k miles.  I just drove it around for awhile until we sold it at the auction.  Didn't have enough power for me.

Well I lost my best picture of this car but this will have to do.  This is the car that got us hooked on the 3rd generations.  It was an 87 Trans Am that almost could've passed for a GTA.  It had all the GTA options except it didn't have gold accents and of course had fender vents.  It was a 350 tuned port/Auto.  No t-tops.  We purchased it in Aug. of 95 from the 2nd owner with 140K miles.  You could've swore it had 40k.  The interior was like new!  It was very well taken care of.  This picture was taken in July of 97 since my pup Molly was about 3 months old in the picture. We sold it in 97 or  98 can't remember with 160K.  She's still driving it but it doesn't look the same.

This was our 2nd 80 Turbo Pace Car.  301 Turbo. 210hp and absolutely no torque!  The 1st one we bought wasn't running but had like new interior and only 55K miles but the body wasn't to great.  We sold it to his cousin and he fixed it after putting a lot of money it and now it's someone else's headache.  This one ran good.  Came from Florida and had a great body but crappy paint.  The interior wasn't too good either so I let my dad's St. Bernard ride in it.  We purchased an Iroc off my dad that had a 400 small block in and gave him this one on trade.  He took it to Carlisle and sold it to a fellow who was shipping it to Sweden.  The 3rd one my dad had and I'm trying to locate the picture of it somewhere to post.  These aren't my favorite Trans Am's but they are going up and up every year.

This was my dad's 1971 Camaro RS.  He purchased it new after he wrecked his 69 RS/Z28 Convertible (Twice!).  After 73 he added the Z28 stripes and emblems.  He sold this in August of 2000 for $11,500.  It only had 13,000 miles.  The interior still smelled new.  The exterior because of age and sitting wasn't as great.  The paint had faded really bad.  I cried the day he sold it.  Ever since I can remember I was told when I turned 16 this was going to be my car.  Every year we took it out on my birthday.  Well when I was given the choice at that age I actually passed b/c it wasn't a practical car for me to be driving to school much less in the winter!  It's now in Wisconsin and the Great Dane is also gone.  (On a side note the Bug in the background was my dad's VW built on a Camaro chassis with a 350 small block in it.)

I expected to put a picture up of our 2nd 78 Black 400/4spd we had put I can't find the picture anywhere!  I never got a picture of the 1st one since my husband had it when we 1st met in 91.  We owned the 2nd 78 in 93.  I'll post it whenever I find it.
